From Jan-July 2018 we helped Saltwood Care Centre in Hythe, Kent, to fill its beds faster through PR and marketing

Here’s the numbers:

  • January 2018 – occupancy = 53 (13 empty beds)
  • July 2018 – occupancy = 66 (full capacity)

One bed = £1130 per week/per bed

Positive media exposure for Saltwood Care Centre

From Jan to July 2018 the home steadily increased occupancy and filled all 13 vacant beds to reach full occupancy, with a total increased annual revenue of £763,880 per annum (presuming occupancy remains at capacity for 12 months).

The PR and marketing initiatives we helped with included regular positive local media exposure, e-newsletter (pre and post GDPR), setting up and establishing Facebook (including “accelerated engagement“) and entering and being shortlisted for awards.

Of course, the home itself was putting in place initiatives to turn around its fortunes including receiving a ‘good’ CQC report and a terrific home manager.

This was where the real work was done.

But the local community and prospective families (private pays) now no infinitely more about the care the home provides, its quality of staff and its reputation has been dramatically enhanced.

Vitally, the home’s owners and manager fully backed all PR and marketing initiatives.

There’s no looking back.

But don’t take our word for it.

Tony Barnes, co-owner of Saltwood Care Centre in Hythe, Kent

Here’s what Saltwood’s co-owner Tony Barnes had to say:

“In January 2018 we had 14 bed vacancies in our nursing home.

“We wanted to raise the profile of our home in order to generate more enquiries, so we took the decision to engage Springup PR to help us achieve our objective.

“With their PR expertise and knowledge of the care sector, they have managed to get us positive media and online coverage which has raised the visibility of our home and helped us increase our occupancy by 20%.

“I would be pleased to recommend Adam and the team at Springup PR to other care providers.”
